Mr. Samuel Duah, a campaign team member for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer candidate Kennedy Agyapong, has slammed Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for failing to handle the country’s economy, describing the ruling NPP as “bad managers of the economy.”
According to him, Dr. Bawumia, who was regarded as the NPP’s economic Messiah prior to the 2012-2016 electioneering year, has now stopped providing lectures on Ghana’s economy after contributing to the country’s economic hardship.
Mr. Duah stated on the TV XYZ morning show “Dwaboase” that because there was nothing positive about the country’s declining economy, Dr. Bawumia has moved his focus to pursuing digitalization rather than adhering to his area of competence in economics.
“Ghana’s economy is in total shambles under the watch of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.” He added
He emphasised that, based on what has been observed so far, the most talked-about economic wizkid [Dr. Bawumia] has mishandled Ghana’s economy.
Mr. Duah placed Ghana’s present economic crisis, epitomised by the extreme untold hardship facing Ghanaians, right at the doorstep of the NPP under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia-led administration.
He claimed that after several economic lectures, Dr. Bawumia is still not doing anything practical to relieve Ghanaians of the economic hardship they are now experiencing.
He said that the NPP has mishandled the affairs of the state for the past seven years, deepening the economic woes of the ordinary Ghanaian.
Mr. Duah advised NPP delegates to choose a determined presidential candidate like Kennedy Agyapong to lead the party, save Ghana from its plight, and put the country on the path to prosperity.
Mr. Dual, therefore, charged the teeming supporters of the NPP throughout the country and urged delegates to vote for Kennedy Agyapong come November 4 for the National Delegates Conference to lead the NPP to secure political victory for the party in the 2024 general elections.
