Ghana head coach Otto Addo believes Antoine Semenyo is poised for a major leap in his career, suggesting a move away from Bournemouth could be the natural next step for the forward.

The 25-year-old has emerged as one of the Premier League’s in-form attackers and is attracting interest from some of England’s biggest clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, ahead of the January transfer window.

His current deal includes a £65 million release clause, active only for a limited period during the winter window.

“He has done very well at Bournemouth, but with all the respect for Bournemouth and what they’re doing, surely it is natural for him to take the next step,” Addo told The Athletic.

Ghana are set to meet England at the 2026 World Cup after both teams landed in Group L alongside Croatia and Panama. Addo maintained that any move by Semenyo, whether in January or later in the summer, will not affect Ghana’s preparations for the tournament.

“Whether it’s in the winter or summer, it is a difference question but it won’t make a difference for us. I’m looking forward to him showing more of what he can to the world.”

Semenyo has been a standout performer for Bournemouth this season, contributing six goals and three assists in 13 league games. He signed a contract extension in July, keeping him at the club until 2030.
