Some senior military officers who supervised the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise at the El Wak stadium in Accra have been directed to step aside, following the constitution of an investigative board to look into the circumstances that led to the death of six Ghanaian young women.

According to a post made by Crime Check on Facebook, it said “the Senior military officers who supervised the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise at El-Wak Sports Stadium have been asked to step aside to pave way for investigations into the tragic stampede that left six people dead and several others injured”,

It further said sources within the Army have confirmed that the “new commanders have been appointed to take over the recruitment process” while emphasizing the “need to ensure transparency” and preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

“Sources within the military have confirmed that new commanders have been appointed to take over the recruitment process once it resumes, as part of steps to ensure transparency and preserve the integrity of the ongoing probe”, parts of the post said.
