Seven casualties, comprising five men and two women, have been recorded in a fiery multi-vehicle crash at Birimso Bridge on the Accra–Kumasi Highway. Two of the victims were burnt beyond recognition.

The crash sparked a violent inferno that completely gutted the fuel tanker, the STC bus, and the pick-up truck, leaving the Kia Sorento extensively damaged in its wake.

Firefighting teams from the Bunso and Suhum Municipal Fire Stations, led by Assistant Divisional Officer Grade I (ADOI) Samuel Doe and ADOI Moses Quaye respectively, raced to the scene to battle the roaring flames and rescue trapped victims.

Officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service in Kibi were also dispatched to manage the chaos and control traffic flow along the vital transport corridor.

Emergency responders managed to bring the raging fire under control after an intensive operation, securing the stretch to prevent further disaster.

The Eastern Regional Fire Command has assured the public that the situation is currently stabilized. Motorists and road users traveling along the N6 stretch are strongly advised to exercise caution and cooperate fully with emergency officers on the ground as final clearance and safety operations conclude.
