Seven killed in truck-tricycle crash at Asikuma

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), through the Debiso Fire Station, swiftly responded to a road traffic collision involving a timber truck (AS 9304-17) and a tricycle at Asikuma in the Bia West District on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

The distress call was received at 0855 hours, and a GNFS rescue team led by ASTNO Wonder, arrived at the scene at 0900 hours.

GNFS personnel led scene safety, rescue coordination, and recovery operations, working in collaboration with the Police and Ambulance Services. Seven (7) fatalities were confirmed. Five (5) at the scene and two (2) later at the Essam Government Hospital.

The bodies were handed over to the Police for autopsy and further investigations. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
