Member of Parliament for SHAI – OSUDOKU Constituency, Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo has donated over 200 street lights to help light up her constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
Shai – Osudoku has been eclipsed with darkness for sometime now and before the 2020 elections she promised her constituents to help light up the constituency.
After her constituents gave her a resounding victory, Show Mama as she is affectionately called distributed over 200 street lights to some institutions and communities within her constituency.
The street lights were given to Assembly Members within the constituency to go and light up their various electoral areas.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, the Shai – Osudoku MP, Linda Ocloo said security issues such as theft, robbery, and rape will be curbed.
She affirmed that when the MP share of the common fund hit the accounts more of such initiatives would be undertaken.
“I am passionate about the development of Shai – Osudoku, and as someone who loves to see the constituency develop, I intend to support the Assembly to light up my Constituency,” she stated.
According to the MP, she is doing this under his initiative dubbed “Obaatampa’s Operation Light Up SHAI – OSUDOKU”
“I hope and pray that the various assembly members under whose care these light are, would see to its maintenance in order for them to last longer and achieve its purpose.
“Where there is too much darkness, it kills night life within the constituency and encourages criminals to harm innocent citizens. Where people don’t feel safe it thwarts development and as a development agent, I’m compelled to help,” she emphasised.
