The Ghana Immigration Service has given answers to reasons leading to the arrest, withdrawal of charges, re-arrest and deportation of the spokesperson for the New Force Movement, Shalimar Abbuisi.
According to the GIS, she was rearrested and deported because her residence permit had been revoked by the Comptroller-General, under Section 20 (2)(a) of the Immigration Act, 2000, Act 573 and per the law, Shalimar Abbisui was not eligible to stay in the country.
The portion of the statement explained that Ms. Abbuisi obtained a student permit through fraudulent misrepresentation which was disclosed by the school after further inquiries by the service.
“She was repatriated on December 19, 2023, aboard Air Brussels Flight No. SN 319, back to her home country”, the release noted.
The service cautions all foreign nationals in the country to strictly adhere to the service’s law because any infringement will be prosecuted.
