All first year students who have successfully completed the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) and awaiting placement into various Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Technical and Vocational Institutions across the country are expected to report to school on Monday, February 20, 2023.
This is part of the timetable released by the Ghana Education Service (GES) for the 2023/2024 academic year for all SHSs, Technical and Vocational Institutions and Basic schools.
Despite placement by the Computerized Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is yet to be released, the Ghana Education Service has announced reporting date for students.
The SHS timetable which was released by GES has been divided into two categories that is for schools under the double-track system and for those that will run a single stream.
Under the double-track system, freshers are expected to report to school on February 20 and stay in school until April 13 when the first part of the first semester is expected to be over.
Students will however be required to return to school on June 9, 2023 and stay till August 10, 2023 when they will take a second break.
The final lap of the first year which is the second semester of the first year will begin on September 18 and end on November 30, 2023
Again, for freshers in the single-track schools, the timetable is slightly different as compared to the double-track.
They are also expected to report on February 20, 2023 and break on April 5, 2023.
They will however resume on April 17 and stay till September 15, 2023.
