Six businessmen who appeared before Her Honour Basilia Adjei-Tawiah at the Circuit Court in Accra have been granted bail in the sum of GH¢10,000 each with two sureties, one to be justified.

The court also ordered them to report once every week to the case investigator until further notice.

The matter has been adjourned to October 14, 2025.

The accused persons, identified as William Kwaku Marfo, Richmond Nana Adofo, Rapheal Kyei, Atsu Amanya, Kofi Isaac and Samuel Blankson, are facing multiple charges, including causing harm, conspiracy to commit crime, and threat of harm, all contrary to provisions of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

Prosecutors, led by Chief Inspector Daniel Appiah-Ofori, told the court that the charges stem from an incident at Agbogbloshie on August 1, 2025.

According to the brief facts presented, complainants Salifu Osman and Ohene Kwesi, both businessmen residing in Agbogbloshie, had long-standing disputes with the accused persons, who also live and operate businesses in the same area.

On the said date, complainant Ohene Kwesi allegedly exchanged words with accused William Kwaku Marfo, who subsequently mobilised the other accused to confront him.

During the confrontation, Marfo allegedly struck the first complainant, Salifu Osman, in the left eye with a pen drive, causing a cut below the eye.

The prosecution further stated that the accused persons hurled insults at Ohene Kwesi and threatened to stab him with a knife and burn his house, putting him in fear of harm. Following a police report, the six accused were arrested and charged.

In court, the pleas of the accused persons were not taken. They are expected to reappear on the adjourned date for further proceedings.
