Soldier captured in viral video assaulting two civilians in pharmacy arrested – GAF

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) says it has arrested a soldier who was captured in a viral video assaulting a drugstore attendant and a female customer.

The video went viral on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at a pharmacy in Burma Camp.

A statement issued and signed by Veronica Adzo Arhin, Captain (Ghana Navy), Acting Director General, Public Relations, revealed that the arrest of the suspect was carried out by the Military Police.

The soldier has been identified as Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Mensah Williams of the Ghana Air Force.

Accoridng to GAF, “The suspect is assisting in investigation over the incident. The victims have also undergone medical attention and are also assisting with investigations.

The Armed Forces assures the general public that it will not condone any acts of assault on civilians and will not shield any soldier engaged in such.”
