Minister for Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif has confirmed that some supporters of the Black Stars have been arrested for selling World Cup tickets.
The minister revealed this during his visit to the Ghanaian fans who are in Qatar to support the national team.
In addressing the fans, he appealed to them not to engage in selling the tickets that have been acquired for them.
“We want to appeal to you to be moderate and disciplined in whatever we are doing. I also want to appeal to you that the police and the security agencies are always at the various stadiums monitoring things. We have toiled to get you tickets.”
“We don’t want any of you to go out and sell the tickets we have given you. So far, the authorities have arrested some people and they are taking them to court.”
“They have sent the evidence to the Ambassador. We don’t want anybody to fall into this. We are appealing to you to ensure that everyone gets tickets to access the stadium. Once you have it, protect it. Don’t lose it for somebody to pick it and sell.” He said
