The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has officially sworn in the first-ever Parliamentary Committee on Security and Intelligence, marking a significant step in Ghana’s legislative oversight on security matters.
The establishment of this committee is in accordance with Order 258 (4) of the new Standing Orders of Parliament, which took effect in January 2024.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Speaker Bagbin congratulated the committee members and urged them to approach their duties with diligence and discretion, emphasizing the sensitive and critical nature of security and intelligence issues.
