The Special Operations Team has intensified patrol and community engagement operations in Bole and surrounding areas as part of efforts to enforce the curfew and sustain peace in the region.

On September 5, 2025, eighty-nine personnel were deployed on night patrols across Bole Township and its border communities.

The patrols, led by ASP Bawa Jalil, Head of Operations – Special Operations Team, Bole, were aimed at enhancing police visibility, deterring crime, and ensuring rapid response to any emerging threats.

During the operation, an unidentified rider abandoned a black Scutta mini motorbike with registration number MS 233-225 at the New Hospital Bangalores area and fled upon sighting the patrol team. The motorbike has since been retrieved and lodged at the Bole District Police Command while investigations continue.

The patrol teams reported that all communities visited remained calm and orderly, with residents cooperating with law enforcement. The sustained presence of security personnel, according to police, is helping to boost public confidence and reinforce adherence to law and order.

The following day, September 6, 2025, the team carried out a strategic community engagement exercise. Officers interacted with residents, market women, vendors, business operators, and opinion leaders to assess the impact of the curfew and to gather feedback on security measures in the area.

Community members acknowledged that security in the town had improved under the police watch, with no recent reports of violence or conflict.

Nonetheless, they voiced concerns about the economic and social challenges posed by the curfew, particularly its effect on evening trade and livelihoods.

In an official meeting with the Chief Imam of Bole and his elders, the religious leaders commended the professionalism and discipline of the officers but appealed for a review of the curfew.

They explained that the restrictions had disrupted religious observances, especially dawn and evening prayers.

The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace, safeguarding lives and property, and strengthening partnerships with community stakeholders.

Information and feedback gathered during the engagements, officials say, will shape future recommendations regarding the enforcement of the curfew in the Bole jurisdiction.
