Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook AL Maktoum has promised to refund the balance of the payment made to purchase the Sputnik V Vaccine.
The Ministry of Health led by Hon. Agyemang Manu made a payment of $5,700,000 to purchase COVID vaccine called Sputnik V Vaccines for Ghanaians.
After failing to provide the required number of vaccines, the Ministry of Health of Ghana requested for refund of the balance on 2nd August, 2021.
The refund has been acknowledged and approved by the office of the Arabian Royal.
According to the statement made by the Arabian man, per the deduction made in the transaction, the total amount supposed to be refunded to the government of Ghana will be $2,470,000.
There has been a tensed moment on social media this morning as people protest online for the government to take the necessary actions and imprison the health minister, Agyemang Manu for causing financial loss to the state.
Some sources revealed that, the renowned vaccine to battle the coronavirus disease was sold in an open market for $10 each, so it’s quite confusing why the government of Ghana decided to purchase the one which sold at $19 for each dose.
People have brought up the issue of corruption in the purchase of these vaccines.
