Flagbearer for Democratic Socialist Party, a simulated political party on Ghana institute of Journalism (GIJ) campus, Osman Abubakari-Sadiq, says statistics of blood donation is very low.
The Democratic Socialist Party scheduled blood donation exercise in collaboration with the National Blood Bank on April 27, 2022, at GIJ’s Ringway campus.
The exercise forms part of efforts by the Party executives to contribute towards the supply of blood at the hospital.
Osman Abubakari-Sadiq in underscoring the importance of the exercise said “donating blood is good for the health of donors as well as recipients.”
“If you look at the Ghanaian dispensation you will realize that blood is in scars, people are not willing to donate, if you look at the world health organization’s statistic to Ghana, Ghana has yet not achieve independence or voluntary blood donation to the national blood bank, is very worrying we still rely on family replacement as a means of blood donation and I think we as a party on campus, we feel it’s good for us, as people who have the party at heart and those who are ready to take action to help save life should join us on Wednesday at GIJ campus as we donate to save life” he said
The political campaign project is an annual project for level three hundred students which started three years ago as part of the Introduction to Political Communication course.
