The gazetted chief of Appolonia in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Nuertey Amobi II, has issued a warning to all persons who have illegally acquired land from persons without capacity or authority of the stool to avail themselves of ratification or be prepared to lose it.
The chief also warned all prospective landowners and developers of Appolonia lands that all lands within the area are stool lands and that the only legitimate person with the requisite capacity and legal authority to make valid grants is the chief and not any other individual.
In a press statement signed by the lawyer for the Appolonia Stool lands, Lawyer Emmanuel Effah Annan, Esq., the Chief disclosed that any individual or group of individuals who will acquire lands from any person without his notice does so at their own risk.
“It has come to me the chief and my elders that certain persons with mischievous, fraudulent and dishonourable motives have been spreading and/or circulating false information to the effect that Nii Nuertey Amobi II has vacated the Appolonia stool and consequently certain persons by name Peter Mensah and Nii Iddrisu Mansro have been parading themselves variously as having appointed as regents with the capacity to grant Appolonia lands.
These assertions are absolutely false and made in the regrettable faith with ill and fraudulent motives, and they ought to be disregarded in toto by the general public as Nii Amobi II has never vacated the Appolonia Stool and/or abdicated from same at any time since the day of his enstoolment,” he stated.
The Appolonia Stool, the Chief said, has initiated several suits in the law courts to cancel out all fraudulent title documents held by individuals and corporate entities that purport to have acquired portions of Appolonia lands as same is from illegitimate sources and the Stool has obtained significant judgments accordingly.
He said, “I was duly enstooled onto the Appolonia Stool on January 20, 2014, and, consequently, had my name legitimately entered the National Register of Chiefs and also duly gazetted as per the National Gazette publication dated July 22, 2019.”
He said he has remained the legitimate chief and occupant of the Appolonia Stool to date, saying that these facts can be easily verified by any interested member of the public by conducting a search at the registry of the National or Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs and the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (Assembly Press).
The Appolonia Chief entreated members of the public to deal with him through the Appolonia Stool Secretariat (0270-640222) located at Appolonia or the Stool’s) lawyer Emmanuel Effah Annan Esq. (0244322143) whenever they wish to acquire any land at Appolonia or for any enquiries thereon.
