President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo has reassigned Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Stephen Amoah as Deputy Finance Minister.
The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso’s re-designation comes on the back of the death of Dr. John Kumah, the Deputy Finance Minister who passed away on March 7, 2024, after a short illness.
Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin announced this in a statement released on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, adding that his new role takes effect immediately.
Following Mr. Amoah to the Minister of Finance, Member of Parliament for Achiase, Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, has been appointed Deputy Minister-designate for Trade and Industry subject to Parliamentary approval.
President Akufo-Addo is therefore hoping that Parliament will “expedite the approval of his nominee, so he can join the Government forthwith, and assist in the delivery of his mandate for his second term in office.”
