Concerned citizens have begun a three-day protest, demanding the release of 53 anti-galamsey protesters and calling for the immediate freedom of Democracy Hub activists who were arrested and detained last week.
The protest is expected to start from Legon Okponglo to the Black Star Square in Accra.
Organized under the slogans “FreeTheCitizens” and “SayNoToGalamsey,”, the event also seeks to denounce illegal mining, known locally as galamsey, which has been a long-standing environmental and social issue in Ghana.
