The Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations has called on church leaders to strengthen spiritual collaboration for national direction, unity, and healing in the wake of the recent military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of senior government officials, military officers, and party executives.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Presidential Envoy Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, expressed appreciation to Christian leaders for their continued prayers and moral guidance, describing their role in Ghana’s civic and spiritual life as “indispensable.”
The envoy urged all prophets, pastors, and other clergy to formally submit any prophecy or spiritual insight of national significance , particularly those relating to political leaders, governance, security, or public stability, to his office for review and possible escalation. This, he said, was in the “spirit of responsibility, discernment, and stewardship over the nation’s destiny.”
Mr. Afriyie Ankrah further appealed for intensified prayers for the President, the government, state institutions, bereaved families, and the entire nation, asking that God grant comfort to the afflicted, wisdom to leaders, and protection for Ghana.
