The Supreme Court has unanimously dismissed the consolidated cases challenging the removal of former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

The four original actions, filed in 2025 by Tafo MP Vincent Assafuah, private citizen Theodore Atta Quartey, Gertrude Torkornoo, and the Centre for Citizenship, Constitutional and Electoral Systems, were consolidated into two cases.

These lawsuits followed the suspension of the former Chief Justice after three petitions seeking her removal established a prima facie case.
