A year-long manhunt has ended with the arrest and confession of Samuel Amoah, a suspect in the brutal murder of three people at Tuba Net-Link Estates in Kasoa.

The suspect, also known as Biggie, was apprehended in Suhum in the Eastern Region on September 17, 2025, after fleeing the crime scene on May 19, 2024.

The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, confirmed the arrest at a press conference on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

COP Donkor recounted the harrowing details of the crime, which began with a distress call to police about a violent attack at a residence.

Upon arrival, officers found the lifeless bodies of Alberta Hagan, a 39-year-old mother, and two of her children.

A third child was discovered alive but critically injured, suffering from multiple deep lacerations to the head and bleeding from the ear.

A five-month-old baby was found unharmed on a sofa.

The injured child was rushed to the hospital, while the deceased were transported to the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Postmortem examinations confirmed that the victims died from “severe head injuries caused by assault.”

Investigations later identified Amoah, who was in a romantic relationship with Ms. Hagan and cohabiting with her at the time, as the prime suspect.

Police believe the motive for the killings was a financial dispute between the two, which led to a violent confrontation.

“In a fit of rage, the suspect attacked Alberta and the two children who witnessed the incident,” COP Donkor revealed.

After committing the murders, Amoah fled the scene and managed to evade authorities for over a year before he was finally located through sustained, intelligence-led operations. During his interrogation, Amoah confessed to the heinous crime and expressed remorse for his actions.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations. He is expected to be arraigned before the court on multiple charges, including murder.

COP Donkor assured the public that the Ghana Police Service is handling the case with “urgency and professionalism” to ensure that “justice is served for the victims and their families.”

The tragic incident has brought the issue of domestic violence into sharp focus, highlighting the need for increased awareness and intervention.

The arrest is a significant breakthrough in one of the most high-profile murder cases in the Central Region in recent memory, providing a measure of closure for the Tuba Net-Link Estates community.
