President John Dramani Mahama joined traditional authorities, senior government officials, and religious leaders at the historic Gbewaa Palace in Yendi for the installation ceremony of His Royal Highness Kampakuya Naa Yakubu II as the Regent of Dagbon.
The traditional rite gathered thousands of sons and daughters of the Dagbon Kingdom in a vibrant display of unity, continuity, and deep-seated reverence for the royal customs of the area.
Speaking at the colorful ceremony, President Mahama extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly installed Regent as he steps up to lead the traditional state.
He reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to partnering with traditional authorities across the country to maintain peace, safeguard Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, and push forward inclusive national development.
The event marks a significant chapter for the people of Dagbon, who turned out in high spirits to celebrate the cultural continuity of the traditional area.
