Tain MP’s Poverty Alleviation Program gives hope to jobless constituents

Member of Parliament for Tain Constituency in the Bono Region, Hon. Sulemana Adama (Hon. Ramzy Adams) has implemented a revolving initiative to train jobless constituents to produce pastries, soaps, powders, and training in graphic designing, video editing, for free in the constituency.

The program, Poverty Alleviation, is to help solve issues of unemployment women in the constituency, by creating jobs and wealth after acquiring the skills to produce the products to ease the livelihood of the people.

“What I simply had to do was to go round and identify some primary problems, have some understanding with them as a Member of Parliament, and to help them”, he expressed.

“Most of the people sometimes comes to me for financial assistance and I sensed when I give them the money, in few time they’ll maybe misuse them, so I need to support them with equipment and gadget that they will use in training to make the products. I named it Poverty Alleviation, with the aim to reduce the poverty rate that causes the frequent demands of the monies”, he told Tain FM

A number of women and men at Badu in the Tain district were enrolled under the program to offer wealth-creation trade opportunities for themselves which they graduated.

According to the Tain MP at the graduation ceremony, he said a number of trainers in the initiative will be engaged to sustain the programme of the implementation policy to help lift people out from poverty, and improve entrepreneurial standards in the area.

“We want to create wealth within the communities, I have decided that starting this, with the amount I have to finance it, next year, I will also get businesses so we will ensure all inclusive in businesses when I start collecting my common funds which is yet to come”, he stated.

Other beneficiaries of the initiative also expressed their delight by commending the Honourable MP for the good work done for the constituency, and also wanted the message to go beyond Tain to other MPs to also copy from their MP.
