The incident occurred on September 23, 2025, when Sam attempted to enter the school through an unauthorized path. A teacher on duty stopped him and tried to escort him to the senior housemaster for disciplinary action. In an attempt to avoid punishment, Sam pulled out a pair of scissors from his pocket and stabbed the teacher in the arm.

Other staff members intervened to subdue him before handing him over to the police.

Sam, who has been described as having a history of truancy and absenteeism, was charged and arraigned before the Takoradi District Court on Friday, September 26, 2025, where judgment was delivered.

The teacher, whose name has not yet been made public, is said to be recovering from the injury.
