Chiefs and residents of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality in the Western Region are poised to stage a massive protest against NPP’s government over the terrible Tamso-Wassa Agona road.

The people say the government has failed to construct the road despite many calls and petitions so they are going to stage what they call a “massive red naked demonstration” in the coming weeks to express their ordeal.

In a visit to Tarkwa on Wednesday, March 30, 2021, to authenticate the true nature of the poor road, indicated that the stretch of Tarkwa road from Tamso- Wassa Agona is not only poor but it is completely a death trap, the situation which has many motor accidents.

Some residents who spoke with this portal said, they battle with unbearable dust during the dry season. They battle with staunch mud during the rainy season.

The Tarkwa-Nsuaem residents lashed the Minister of Roads and Highways Mr. Kwesi Amoako Atta for failing to redeem his earlier promises. They said he should order Asabea Construction Company Limited to make progress on the road.

“We are now fed-up with the empty assurances of Minister of Roads and Highways,” they stated.

The residents had staged a couple of protests about their poor roads, still, the roads remain unfixed therefore they are very poised to stage more protests until their roads are fixed.
