The Municipal Chief Executive, local party members, chiefs and Nsuaem community members joined Tarkwa-Nsuaem Member of Parliament Hon. Mireku Duker on Monday, July 1, 2024, to cut sod for the construction a new Astroturf for the Nsuaem Community.
Set for completion and commissioning in October 2024, the legislator claimed this will be the fifth Astroturf project he has facilitated within his eight-year tenure as the Member of Parliament for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency.
According to him, in addition to the US$16 million for the reconstruction of the TnA Park, Tarkwa is poised to gain recognition not only for its gold mining but also as a significant centre for sports development in Ghana, fostering talent and driving socio-economic growth.
“In under eight years, with support from the government, I have overseen the completion of an ultra-modern 48-bed hospital and a 6-unit classroom block, both of which are now operational. The new Nsuaem Senior High School, which I envisioned in 2018, is nearing completion, and our next focus will be improving the inner-town roads.” Mireku Duker noted
The chiefs, youth groups, and the wider community of Nsuaem praised the efforts of the MP, expressing their commitment to supporting his re-election, viewing it as a communal responsibility.
