The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Techiman, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko has cut sod for the construction of a Two- Storey 6-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities for the Aduana Model Basic School located at Wiawso in Techiman the Bono East Regional capital.
Present at the ceremony were, Nana Boakye Ameyaw Pentenprem (Nifahene, Techiman Traditional Council), Alhaji Inusah Hamza, Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Muniru Tanko, Techiman South Constituency Chairman and Party Executives, Officers of the Municipal Education office and the Assembly, Parents and Pupils.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko said the Assembly and the Member of Parliament of the area, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah who doubles as a Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development are aware of the infrastructure needs of all the schools in the Municipality and are taking steps to address them gradually.
He mentioned that within the last one year, the Assembly has completed and commissioned Six (6) Unit Classroom blocks with auxiliary facilities each in the Nsuta, Nkwaeso, Nkwanta, Kenten and Ayinabrem communities.
He further added that, the source of funding for the project is the District Assembly Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) and that the money is sitting in the accounts of the Assembly.
Speaking to the media, supervisor in charge of the project, Mr. Justice Agyemang Duah said the project is expected to be completed with a 6 month period which starts from February to August 2023.
He added that, as a construction company, Benewaa and Sons are known to complete its work on time and urged authorities to expect the completion of the building with scheduled date.
