The MP for Techiman South, Mr. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah yesterday, 11th June, 2022 led a delegation to present 200 double beds and an additional 400 foam mattresses to the Yeboa Asuama SHS at Nsuta in his constituency.
Presenting the items, he thanked the Ministry of Education and the Government for considering him when the request was sent to the Ministry for assistance.
He said the introduction of the Free Senior High School has increased in enrollment of students as been testified by the Headmaster of the School that the total enrollment of the school used to be 100 students but now stands at 626.
Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah said the increase in the enrollment has come with its attendants challenges which government is not oblivious to them. He pleaded with the staff and the students to exercise patience with the government as it has taken steps to address them.
He added that, he is sponsoring additional 100 beds for the school to compliment the governments’ own.
The MCE for Techiman Municipal, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko on his part thanked the MP for facilitating the coming of the beds and the mattresses from the Ministry of Education. He described it as timely as he has received numerous calls from the Community of students sleeping on bare floor in their dormitories.
The Headmaster of the School Mr. Kuffour Abdulai also thanked the Government and the MP for swiftly responding to their call.
He called on the MCE and the MP to address other challenges which is being faced by the school.
Other dignitaries at the handing over event were the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. John Kwadwo Amissah , the Chief of Nsuta, Nana Owusu Ameyaw, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Alhaji Hamza and Mr. Muniru Tanko, N.P.P Constituency Chairman and his Executives.
