TEMA: Trade Minister applauds Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing Company

The Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Alan Kyerematen on Monday, 10th May, 2021 paid a working visit to Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing Assembly Plant under construction at the Tema Free Zones Enclave.

He witnessed at first hand the hard work and drive of investors and workers to help achieve the government’s development agenda.

At the Toyota Facility, the Trade and Industry Minister was conducted round by Mr. Akira Yamada, the Managing Director of the Plant.

This was followed by a briefing session where the team was briefed on the activities of the plant leading to its commissioning in the last week of June 2021.

Mr. Yamada commended the high skill levels of the Ghanaian workers which are propelling the company to achieve its targets.

Hon Kyerematen expressed appreciation to TTMG for the work done and was grateful to the management for engaging Ghanaian companies and skilled labour in the construction of their facility.

He assured them of the government’s readiness to provide the needed atmosphere and structures to ensure the successful establishment of ventures by investors.

TTMG is a registered Pre-Bonafide Assembler for Toyota and Suzuki brand of Vehicles, under the Ghana Automotive Development Policy. The company is set to start commercial operations in August 2021.
