Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), George Krobea Asante, has called on members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of NPP (TESCON) to intensify their communication efforts in promoting the party’s ideals and achievements.
Speaking at the UG TESCON Alumni Connect and Freshers Orientation held at both the Legon City Campus and the Legon Main Campus, Asante underscored the critical role of communication in modern politics. He urged TESCON members to take advantage of new media platforms to highlight the NPP’s track record, emphasizing that an informed and engaged student body could be a powerful force for the party’s future success.
“You must reach out to every student on campus, especially the freshers,” Asante urged. “Let them understand and appreciate what the NPP stands for and what we have achieved.”
His words resonated with the audience, many of whom have remained dedicated to the party despite the disappointment of the 2024 election results.
The event drew prominent figures within the NPP, including Hon. Asenso Boakye, founder of TESCON and MP for Bantama; Madam Akosua Manu, former Adenta parliamentary aspirant and past Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority; and the Patron of UG TESCON.
Asante reaffirmed his belief in the power of TESCON, urging members to be proactive in sharing the party’s message ahead of the 2028 elections. He reassured the gathering that with sustained engagement and a renewed focus on digital platforms, the NPP would be in a stronger position to regain public trust and mobilize support.
Demonstrating his commitment to the cause, Asante made a personal donation to support TESCON’s activities on campus, further energizing the students.
The event was met with enthusiasm, as attendees expressed their commitment to the party’s vision. As the 2028 elections inch closer, Asante’s message was clear: the time for action is now, and TESCON members have a vital role to play in shaping the party’s future.
