The Assembly member for Mangoase Electoral area in the Akyem Abuakwa North Municipality precisely Akyem Tafo, Hon. Afari Agyemang popularly called Agyengo has protested over the worsening state of the Bluemich Bridge.
The agitated member of the legislative assembly hanged a placard around his neck to express his displeasure on why the bridge which serves as arterial has cut off communities that rely on it to transport goods and services to the other towns.
The inscription on the placard reads; “God And The People Will Not Forgive Us If We Loose A Life Because Of The Bluemich Bridge”
Hon. Afari Agyemang is pleading with the authorities in charge to fix the deteriorating bridge at Mangoase Electoral Area.
In his words, the Assemblyman cautioned authorities that God and the people of Mangoase will not forgive them should a soul dies because of the dilapidated Bluemich bridge.
According to him, teaching and learning has halted as school children and residents living in the area are stranded at home even though schools are in session.
The Assembly Man speaking to the media said, he has sent several petitions to the then MCE but nothing has been done. The MP for the area gave an assurance that the bridge was under construction during the election year and as at now not even a single contractor is working on the bridge.
