An alleged burglar, Ibrahim Muntawakiru, 33, has been arrested whiles trapped in the reinforced ceiling of a rural bank in Koforidua.
His arrest thwarted a three days operation ransacking shops along the Legion hall in the Central Business District of Koforidua and finally ending up in the ceiling of a rural bank.
The suspect, according to sources conducted surveillance for 11 days to carry out his operation.
However, intensified police patrols prevented his escape, leaving him trapped in the ceiling until shop owners discovered the break in.
Police retrieved the following from a concealed sack;
Two (2) hacksaw blades, One (1) hammer
,One (1) metal punch,
Two (2) screwdrivers
One (1) crowbar,
Assorted keys of different types, One (1) pair of pliers,
One (1) keypad mobile phone,
One (1) pair of scissors,
One (1) grinding machine,
Two (2) grinding wheels,
Three (3) wooden hammer handles, and Cash of GH 9,133.00
