The owner of the store, Bernard Kuffour in an interview told myrepubliconline.com that due to the heavy rain on Sunday, he was unable to take the money home for safe keeping.
He arrived after 6 a.m. on Monday to open his shop, but quickly realized the ceiling has been left opened.
According to him, the robbers broke into the roof and opened the ceiling to have access to the shop.
He explained that the area where the shop is located is a galamsey town and recently the ban on illegal mining is increasing crime rate in the community since the youth have no job.
