Sports Journalist, Michael Oti Adjei has expressed disappointment in the performance of the Black Stars after losing 2-0 to Uruguay in their last group H game.
All the Black Stars needed to do to qualify was to get a draw against Uruguay but failed to get anything from the match.
The sports journalist in a video posted via his Twitter handle noted that he does not believe how the national team missed qualification.
“It’s incredible that we’ve let this slip. This is one of the biggest bottlings I’ve seen the Ghana Black Stars undertake in a very long time. Just how we had a qualification in our hands, before kickoff, we were presented with an opportunity to have it in our hands, during the game, and somehow, we let it slip in the most ridiculous fashion.”
Also, he questioned the mentality of the team and how they refused to show up after the captain of Ghana Andre Dede Ayew missed the penalty in the early parts of the game.
“Today, when we missed the penalty, it is as if literally, the entire team then refused to play. How on earth could we be that naïve and that weak mentally on an international stage?
“It is unbelievable I have to be honest with you. This is the biggest bottling job I’ve seen of any Ghana national team in a really long while because honestly, all that Ghana needed was a draw.” He bemoaned.
