Head coach of the Black Stars Chris Hughton has explained the reason why Thomas Partey did not feature in Ghana’s second leg match against Angola on Monday.
Though Partey played a major role in Ghana’s win in the first leg in Kumasi, he was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes of the game in Luanda, raising some questions among Ghanaian fans but Chris Hughton has indicated that the decision was made not to involve him due to a minor injury.
“Thomas has some small issues, he had some small injury issues and we felt it was too big a risk to start him,” he said in his post match conference.
