The Sakumono District Police Command in Accra has arrested three men in connection with a shooting incident and acts of trespass at the Celebrity Golf Club area in Sakumono on Friday, October 18, 2025.
The suspects — Abubakar Mohammed, aged 28; Eric Asare, aged 23; and Felix Darko, aged 48 — were arrested after allegedly storming a construction site belonging to one of the executives of the Celebrity Golf Club.
According to a police statement signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Regional Police Command, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects falsely presented themselves as National Security operatives and unlawfully discharged firearms during the incident. Their actions reportedly caused damage to parts of the property.
Police further disclosed that the attack is linked to an ongoing land dispute involving some parties within the Nungua Traditional Council.
“All three suspects are currently in custody assisting with investigations,” the statement said.
Superintendent Obeng cautioned individuals and groups to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, especially in land-related matters.
She assured the public that the police remain committed to ensuring law and order and that anyone found culpable will face the full rigours of the law.
