And there were four leprous men at the entering in the gate: and they said one to another, why sit we here until we die?
II Kings 7:3
EXPOSITION
The failure of the Church to contain and grow talents has led to the reasons why gifted people leave the Church for the secular world.
A very good example is the Ghanaian Award-winning musician, Kwame Eugene. Another good example is the Gospel musician, MOG, who left his former Church to another church before getting the right environment to hit the light. But when they make it outside the church, the church now chases them with all kinds of ‘Huhuscious’ prophecies.
The scripture in II Kings 7:3-20, tells us of how God can use anybody to bring deliverance or transformation in any area, family, group, city or country. At least these four leprous men, had their feet’s intact, and God only needed their feet’s, to save Samaria.
There are recording artist in the church who are not getting the support they need, some only sing once in a year, whiles many have left to other churches, others go into cellular or highlife music and make it.
On occasions or programs in their own church, these upcoming musicians don’t appear on the bill, and sometimes not even the song for offering is allowed them, because of the “Pointing of fingers”.
CONCLUSION
Thank God for those Pastors who are helping young pastors and musicians to also grow. But the ratio is still not good, many young musicians are leaving the church. And like Kwame Eugene, the church failed, therefore, nobody should disturb his peace. God himself, at his own time, will decide his fate. Let’s stop this hypocrisy in the church.
