Some top sports journalists in Ghana have decided to demonstrate against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS).

The group includes Angel FM’s Saddick Adams, Patrick Osei Agyemang also known as Countryman Songo of Adom TV, Veronica Commey, and a host of others.

The demonstration, which is set for February 14, 2024, is aimed at fighting for reforms in Ghana’s football.

This comes after the Black Stars’ poor performance at the ongoing  2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory.

Ghana was eliminated in the group stage of the tournament after they picked up only two points to finish third in Group B, which included Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.

After securing a police permit for the event on Wednesday, Saddick Adams explained that the protest is a peaceful one, which will see them present a petition to the GFA and Sports Ministry.

“The demonstration is a peaceful one for us to present a petition. There is no hate or anger,” he said.

He added that “All what we are asking for is for us to make sure our football progresses. We have to make sure that we have a national football training complex for our national teams, as well as making our team call-ups transparent and also reduce the amount of money we spend on tournaments and also get selfless people to lead our football,” he stated.
