Trade Minister commissions Dzorwulu branch of Zonda Tec under 1D1F

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon Alan Kyerematen, on Wednesday, April 28, commissioned the Dzorwulu branch of Zonda Tec, a 1D1F company.

Zonda Tec Ghana has invested more than USD$10 million in the construction of its assembly plant as well as training school in Tema under the One District One Factory (1D1F) Programme.

So far, Zonda has branches in Tamale, Kumasi, Bujumbura, Takoradi and Nsawam with spare parts shops in Madina, Kasoa and Amasaman.

With the growing demand for heavy duty trucks arising from growth in the transport, construction, mining and other related sectors, Zonda Tec has positioned itself to become a leading assembler and supplier of trucks including Sinotruk Howo Tipper Trucks, Liugong Excavators and Payloaders, Shantui Payloaders, Bull Dozers, Graders/Rollers/Backhoes, Forland Light Duty Trucks, Zonda Tricycles, Fiat Beds, Low Beds and Farm Tractors.

In addition, Zonda Tec is supporting artisans with technology transfer and build their capacities to assemble high quality trucks for both the domestic and foreign markets.

The expertise of Zonda Tec Ghana Limited, the reputation of its durable trucks, market know-how and timely delivery of services to meet the requirement of its customers has positioned the company as a major competitor in the transport, construction, mining, etc. sectors of the economy.

Zonda Tec is expected to assemble and distribute about 1,500 trucks in the course of the year and will create a direct employment for 250 people with the indirect jobs estimated at 500.

Government has approved an Incentive Framework specially designed for the 1D1F designated companies. The Incentives which include Tax Holidays, duty waivers and Corporate Tax, are designed to help build the capacities and competitiveness of these enterprises, and to position them for greater productivity and efficiency.
