The Trinity Baptist Church, in the United Kingdom, London with support from the Church in Accra has presented a cheque of 10,000 Ghana cedis to the Apiate Support Fund Committee and also donated a good number relief items to the people of Apiate.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, The Resident Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Accra, Rev. Reuben Asare said their donation and contribution is premised on love and support for the people of Apiate upon hearing the sudden news of the explosion.

He said as a Church, the word of God admonishes Christians to visit the orphans and the widows in their trouble, adding that “we felt that as a church this is a typical occasion for us to show those dimensions of a pure religion to the community, through love, care and support as directed by God”

The Resident Pastor noted that the donation is also a part of a line up of activities for the birthday celebrations of their head Pastor, Rev. Kingsley Appiagyei to whom they sent out a resounding Happy birthday wish through the media.

Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, the Chairman of the Apiate Support Fund Committee who expressed her profound gratitude on behalf of the team and the people of Apiate, said she is particularly happy that the team have taken the initiative to send all the relief items straight to Apiate on their own, saving the team the time and resource to transport the items.

She assured the delegation that a team will be on standby to receive them at Apiate and ensure the proper sharing of the items to the people of the community.

She hoped that their gesture of love, care and kindness would be emulated by other churches to also donate what they can to support this worthy cause.

The relief items donated included 24 boxes of assorted clothes and shoes, 4 Boxes of Soap and washing powder, 10bags of 50kg rice, 2 Boxes of cooking oil, 3boxed of Sardine and Mackrel and 1 Box of Spaghetti.
