The Technical University Senior Administrators’ Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike by the end of September 2024 over the government’s failure to pay their outstanding allowance owed.
The association in a press statement indicated that the Ministry of Finance in May 2024 directed the implementation of revised allowances for senior members of public universities, thus, that need has not been met.
“We demand payment of agreed-upon rates for vehicle maintenance, off-campus, fuel, utility, and sanitation/security allowances by the month ending September 2024”, TUSAAG demanded.
TUSAAG has decided to declare a nationwide strike if these payments are not reflected in the validation of September 2024 salaries.
