An Accra Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Mr. Kwabena Kodua Obiri-Yeboah, has sentenced two men, Peter Amuzu, alias Master Pee, and Isaac Brena Eshun, alias Young, to a total of 30 years in prison for robbing a banker of her vehicle, cash, and personal items at the East Legon Christian Centre.
Initially pleading not guilty to charges of conspiracy and robbery, the two later changed their pleas to guilty when the case was called.
The court accepted their new pleas and handed each convict 15 years for conspiracy and another 15 years for robbery, with the sentences to run concurrently.
The robbery, which involved the theft of money in various currencies and the victim’s car, also implicated a third suspect, Ibrahim Mohammed. Mohammed is alleged to have supplied the pistol used in the crime and to have received the stolen vehicle. He has denied the charges of abetment of crime and dishonestly receiving and is currently standing trial.
The court’s decision underscores the seriousness of armed robbery crimes and serves as a warning to would-be offenders.
