A joint operation team put together by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has led to the arrest of two more suspects in connection with the Fufulso Junction robbery/murder case in the Savannah Region.
This brings to five the total number of suspects arrested so far.
The team comprised the IGP’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team and the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Accra.
On 12/03/2026, the team arrested suspects Habibata Kojo, age 29, Ibrahim Sumaila, age 35, and Alhassan Yusif aged about 40, while on 13/03/2026, two more suspects namely; Dramani Imoro, aged 24 and Sayibu Iddi, aged 50, were also apprehended.
It would be recalled that following the violent robbery at Fufulso Junction on 08/03/2026 at about 19:30hrs, which resulted in the murder of a mobile money operator, Mahama Majeed and one other, the IGP swiftly deployed the specialised team to go and support the Buipe District Command.
Initial investigation confirmed six suspects (including one female) believed to be of Fulani extraction, armed with AK-47 rifles hidden under long coats, carried out the attack at Golden Linq Ventures, a MoMo vending shop.
A search at suspect Dramani Imoro’s residence yielded an unregistered Toyota VOXY vehicle which he allegedly purchased 72 hours after the crime, an unregistered Haojue motorbike, and two smartphones.
All suspects and exhibits are in police custody for further investigations while frantic efforts are being made to track and arrest other accomplices who are at large.
The police administration would like to commend all the officers for the swift response and the actions put in place to arrest the suspects.
The administration is also calling on the public, especially those within the Savannah Region area to volunteer information on the whereabouts of all those connected to this horrendous crime.
