Two persons believed to be killers of Lance Corporal Calystus Amoah have been remanded into police custody by the Kaneshie District Court on Monday, July 3, 2023.
The accused persons, Benjamin Ojogbe, and Rashid Abdul were charged with counts of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
According to the police, the suspects are part of the armed robbers who attacked a makeshift bullion van at Ablekuma Fanmilk in the Greater Accra Region.
On Thursday, June 22, 2023, after the police officer was shot dead, CCTV footage of how the incident occurred showed how the robbers shot the officer multiple times at close range.
The Ghana Police Service in a statement said the suspected robbers followed the van, which went to refill at the fuel station, where the shoot-out occurred.
According to information provided to the court, the robbers fled with about GH145,000.
Search for the other suspects however is underway.
