The Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Command has arrested two teenagers in connection with the theft of GH¢41,000 and an unspecified amount of gold from a shop at Twifo Praso.
The incident, which occurred on January 29, 2025, was reported to the police after unknown individuals, believed to be between the ages of 8 and 17, stole the money and gold.
Following investigations, law enforcement identified two suspects, a 17-year-old girl and her friend, who were residing in Anomabo in the Central Region. Authorities apprehended them on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
The shop owner, Mrs. Gifty Owusu, has called for justice, alleging that the 17-year-old suspect has a history of theft.
Superintendent Charles Addei Boateng, the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Commander, confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
They are expected to face charges related to the theft.
