The first half goal from captain, Afriyie Barnieh helped the Black Meteors to draw against Egypt in an international friendly match at the Alexandrian Stadium on Thursday.
Captain Afriyie Barnieh placed Ghana ahead from a penalty spot 9 minutes into the start of the first half after Fatawu Issahaku was brought down in the penalty box.
The Egyptians pushed for the equalizer and were able to create decent chances for themselves, which led to winning a penalty in the 19th minute but goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad, produced a fine save to deny them.
Meanwhile, with 7 minutes to the end of the first half, Egypt got back on level with a beautiful Ibrahim Adel effort.
Zubairu Ibrahim just before the end of the first 45 minutes, was sent off for a bad challenge.
In the second half, coach Ibrahim Tanko made some changes to the team, which brought a little stability to his side, but with a man down, they managed to maintain the results.
Ibrahim Tanko’s men will play another friendly game on July 19 in Cairo, before they head to Morocco, where the tournament will commence on July 24.
