Police in Jirapa in the Upper West Region of Ghana have begun an investigation into the death of Mr. Eric Johnson, who was allegedly murdered on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Mr. Johnson, who is the owner of Royal Cosy Hills Hotel popularly called Jirapa Dubai, was found in a pool of blood in one of his hotel rooms in the early hours of Sunday.
A statement released by the Police has indicated that one person has so far been arrested and is currently assisting with the investigation.
Meanwhile, the statement added that “the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), George Akuffo Dampare, has deployed a team of investigators and experts led by the Director-General/CID to work with the Upper West Regional Police Command to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.”

The Ghana Police Service has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cossy Hill Hotel at Jirapa in the Upper West Region.
The deceased was found on 11th February 2024 lying in a pool of blood in one of the rooms at the hotel.
The Regional Crime Scene Management Team has visited the scene of the incident.
One person has since been detained to assist the investigation.
The Inspector-General of Police has deployed a team of investigators and experts led by the Director-General/CID to work with the Upper West Regional Police Command to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.
