Two female students of the Zamse Senior High School in Bolgatanga of the Upper East region have been suspended indefinitely by management for allegedly committing abortions on campus.
Confirming the report, Bolgatanga-based radio, Dreamz Fm disclosed that the two students were sent to the school’s clinic for a pregnancy test and results came out positive that they were both pregnant.
The female students, one in First-Year, and the other in Second-Year, were subsequently sent to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital to run the pregnancy test again but the test still came out positive.
The two students allegedly got rid of the pregnancy when management was yet to decide on their fate with regards to breaching the school’s rules and regulations.
The female students, [Name withheld] were summoned by the disciplinary committee of the school.
According to the committee, the studentsโ actions violated the schoolโs rules and regulations as well as the laws of Ghana and therefore, recommended for them to be suspended indefinitely.
Upon complying with the recommendations by the committee, the school announced the suspension of the students on Friday, May 28, 2021.
