A senior lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba, Mr. Eric Sakyi Nketiah, has officially declared his intention to contest as the flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He made the announcement at a press conference held at his residence in Akyem Swedru in the Birim South District of the Eastern region.
Mr. Eric Sakyi Nketiah stated at a press conference that he intends to run for president of Ghana on the NPP ticket in order to continue the good works and policies of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo because he believes the NPP will surely break the eight, and he is a very competent person to succeed President Nana Addo in 2025.
Adding to that, he noted that he will be more focused on areas like agriculture development, quality education for Ghanaian children, private business empowerment, fighting corruption to the minimum, industrialization, and foreign trade (more export, less import), among other important policies that he hopes to bring on board to rescue the nation from hardship and for its development.
According to Mr. Eric Sakyi Nketiah, his first priority policy would be on agriculture, which is supposed to be the engine of the growth of the nation but hasn’t got the much-needed attention, and it is one of the main reasons why there is huge unemployment in the country; hence, he is poised to strengthen the agriculture sector for the betterment of the country.
He further appealed to all NPP party delegates and executives to entrust him by voting to elect him to lead the party to victory in the 2024 general election.
Mr. Nketiah, therefore, believes that he is the sole aspirant to win power for the New Patriotic Party to break the eight, as has been the party’s aim towards the 2024 election.
