The United Nations Population Fund, formerly the United Nations Fund for Population Activities, [UNFPA] delegation of high-level Government Officials from Nigeria, on Tuesday 28th June 2022, paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP).
The delegates were from the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women Affairs and Ministry of Youth and Social Development in Nigeria.
The purpose of the meeting was for the delegation to know about the business of the Ministry, its Departments and Units, and partners the Ministry has.
Addressing the delegation on behalf of the Ministry, the Chief Director of the Ministry, Dr. Afisah Zakariah took them through the Ministry’s structure and general overview, the flagship programmes the Ministry undertakes and other government interventions under the care of the Ministry.
Representatives from Departments, Secretariats and Units under the Ministry also took turns to explain the core mandate of their Departments, Secretariats and Units to the Government officials.
Dr. Afisah Zakariah expressed the Ministry’s appreciation to the delegation for the visit and thanked them for their continuous support.
Present at the meeting were the Chief Director of the Ministry, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, the Director for the Department of Children, Mrs Florence Ayisi Quartey, and Representatives from the various Departments, Secretariats and Units.
